Kata kunci: perdarahan subaraknoid, stroke, nimodipin ABSTRACT Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), mostly from aneurysms, accounts for only 3% of all strokes, but it accounts for 5% of stroke deaths and for more than one-quarter of potential life-years lost through stroke. The premier symptom of subarachnoid hemorrhage is a sudden, unusual severe headache.

Background : Stroke made up 9% of the causes of human death and was the second leading cause of death worldwide. Intracerebral hemorrhage was the second most frequent type after ischemic stroke. A number of risk factor for stroke had been identified. Stroke outcome depended on many factors for example decrease in GCS, location of infratentorial bleeding, intraventricular extension, and increase in thrombosis time. Bleeding volume was mentioned to be the most dominant factor among others. Evaluation of stroke outcome could be done by using barthel index for its high reliability which is 0.95 and its quick application.Aim : To ascertain the correlation between intracerebral bleeding volume and barthel index in hemorrhagic stroke.Method : This research was analytic observational research with cross-sectional method. This research was held at RS DR. Kariadi Semarang. Research was done with 29 patients with purposive sampling technique. The data used was secondary data which is medical records from January 2015 until June 2016. Statistical test was done using Spearman correlation test.Result : The 29 patients consisted of 12 males and 17 females. No correlation was found between bleeding volume and barthel index; with p-value at 0.391. Meaningful correlation was found between obesity and subarachnoid bleeding to the stroke outcome; with p-value at 0.033. No meaningful correlation was found between age, sex, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, hypercholesterolemia, obesity, subarachnoid hemorrhage, intraventrikular extension and barthel index; with p-value at 0,704; 0,669; 1,00; 0,354; 0,362; 1,00; 1,00.Conclusion : No correlation was found between intracerebral bleeding and outcome in hemorrhagic stroke. Keywords : bleeding volume, Barthel Index, stroke outcome, intracerebral hemorrhage
